——-————BIO—-—————
Greetings! Christine Amour-Levar here.
Please allow me to introduce myself.
Raised in the Philippines by my Filipina mother and my French and Swiss father, my heritage weaves a rich tapestry of cultural diversity and my lineage can be traced back to Mongolian Huns on one side, and Spanish Basque Conquistadors on the other! I speak six languages, have called four continents and seven cities home, traversing close to 80 countries in the process and currently reside in Singapore, with my husband and four children.
I am a dedicated social entrepreneur, driven by a passion for philanthropy, community building, climate and gender-lens investing. I’ve founded two impactful NGOs, Women on a Mission and HER Planet Earth, using the power of expeditionary travel to support vulnerable women. These organisations raise awareness about critical issues disproportionately affecting women such as violence, economic crisis and climate change. Through the education and entrepreneurship initiatives, climate resilience programs, agriculture and wildlife conservation efforts that we fund, we aim to empower women across Asia and Africa.
As you can imagine, these unique experiences with teams of women to some of the most inhospitable and remote places in the world, have truly been incredibly humbling and formative experiences for me personally. They have forced me to push my limits on multiple occasions – really testing my mental, physical and emotional resilience – while allowing me to grow, succeed and fail in countless ways.
A bit about my journey…
My diverse career spans roles at McCann Erickson in Tokyo, Nike across four continents, and leadership in Marketing & Communications at Temasek Trust—the philanthropic arm of Singapore’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, Temasek Holdings.
Subsequently, I embraced entrepreneurship, founding my consultancy, two NGOs, and more recently launched Investors for Climate, to harness capital for climate solutions via closed-door networking events held across key financial centres worldwide.
I have the privilege of serving on multiple boards focused on Social Impact and Climate Investing, such as Investible VC, Utopia Capital Management, Zero Waste SG, and the Sulubaaï Environmental Foundation of the Philippines.
My dream is to be a catalyst for more equity in society and contribute to solving the climate crisis by channelling significant capital toward innovative solutions.
Above all, my heart is dedicated to advocating for vulnerable groups and the environment. And I consider myself fortunate to have found creative ways to build this legacy and leave a positive impact on the world around me.
